George Crowl has graciously allowed us to post his written works on Adult Knots. If you want to know when square knots started, and how we developed over 40 different knots, you may enjoy this paper. It includes the devices that go on the knots. A second article, "Private Issue Knots" explores the many different locally authorized, private issue, fake, and spoof knots that have been made in those same years.
